Tennessee Disability Coalition

Disability Coalition

The Coalition is a group of individuals and organizations invested in promoting the full participation of Tennessee’s disabled children and adults. Its grant money generally goes to groups working towards these same ends, rather than individuals. However, the Coalition will assist you in locating appropriate grants you can use to offset the cost of a wheelchair van or accessibility conversions and equipment.

The Disability Coalition in Tennessee is a collective organization that advocates for the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities throughout the state. Comprised of various disability-focused groups, nonprofits, and individuals, the coalition aims to promote inclusivity, accessibility, and equality for people with disabilities.

The coalition works towards influencing policies, systems, and practices at the local, state, and national levels to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal opportunities and are able to fully participate in all aspects of society. They actively engage with lawmakers, government agencies, and community stakeholders to advocate for legislative changes that address the unique needs and challenges faced by people with disabilities.

Through education, awareness campaigns, and outreach programs, the Disability Coalition raises public consciousness about disability-related issues, dispelling stereotypes and promoting a more inclusive society. They provide resources, support networks, and information to individuals with disabilities, their families, and caregivers to empower them and help navigate various services and programs available to them.

The Disability Coalition in Tennessee collaborates with other organizations, disability rights groups, and community partners to foster collaboration and create a united front in advancing disability rights. By fostering partnerships and alliances, they work towards creating a more accessible and inclusive Tennessee for everyone.

The Disability Coalition in Tennessee plays a vital role in advocating for the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities, striving to eliminate barriers and promote equitable opportunities for all.
