The Developmental Disabilities Council in Missouri is a state-level agency dedicated to promoting and advocating for the rights and inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities. The council operates under the authority of the federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act.

The council's primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families by providing support, resources, and opportunities for self-determination. They work towards achieving this mission through various activities such as conducting research, coordinating services, and implementing initiatives that address the needs and challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities.

The council collaborates with government agencies, community organizations, service providers, and individuals with developmental disabilities to identify gaps in services and develop innovative approaches to address those gaps.
